Dr. Dariush Hourfar

Dr. Dariush Hourfar has been working as a freelance scientific consultant for Michalski Hüttermann & Partner since January 2016.

Dr. Dariush Hourfar was born in Halle (Westphalia) in 1958. He studied energy and power plant engineering at the University of Essen. After graduating in 1984, he worked at the Institute for Systems Research and Technological Development at the Jülich Nuclear Research Centre in the field of nuclear technology, where he completed his doctorate in 1989.

Until the end of 2015, he held various management positions in the energy industry and was responsible for numerous national and international projects from concept development to realisation. In recent years, he has been responsible for technologies and innovations (photovoltaics, biomass, flexibility, energy storage, nuclear technology...).

Dariush Hourfar has initiated more than 200 publications in the course of his career and has been represented on national and international expert committees. He is also a lecturer at the Power Plant School and the House of Technology in Essen.
