Jan Winkelnkemper studied biology and neuroscience at the Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn and completed his studies in 2014 with a master's thesis in the field of electrophysiology. He completed his doctorate at the Institute of Zoology at the University of Bonn in 2018 with a thesis on signal perception and processing of brainstem neurons.
During his doctorate, he found his personal interests and strengths in intellectual property and became enthusiastic about the profession of patent attorney. At the beginning of 2019, he decided to start his training as a patent attorney at the law firm Michalski Hüttermann & Partner. He was admitted as a patent attorney in 2022.
Jan Winkelnkemper grew up in Bad Münstereifel and speaks German, English and French. In his spare time, he enjoys sports with a particular passion for basketball. He loves being in the great outdoors and enjoys mountain bike tours with his wife, dog and horse.
