After serving as an officer in the German army for two years, Stefan Andreas Michalski studied chemistry and biochemistry at the universities of Hamburg, Göttingen, Paris and Berkeley, California. He completed his studies in 1992 with a doctorate on liquid crystals.
In the same year, Dr. Michalski began his training as a patent attorney, which he completed with the patent attorney examination in 1995. Stefan Michalski is also admitted as a representative before the European Patent Office and as a representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
His main areas of practice in intellectual property law are, in particular, obtaining intellectual property rights and the prosecution and enforcement of patent applications and patents as well as trademarks and designs - not only in court, but also out of court or before arbitration tribunals. Stefan Michalski also conducts freedom-to-operate analyses, prepares expert opinions and is highly experienced in patent strategy advice and patent infringement proceedings, particularly in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals and materials science.
Dr. Michalski is regularly recommended in professional publications, e.g. for many years in the JUVE Handbook and The Legal 500 Germany.
Stefan Michalski was born in Bremen in 1962. He lives with his wife in Düsseldorf. His hobbies are city breaks, golf, sailing, tennis and skiing. Dr. Michalski speaks German and English.
