Gerrit Fachinger studied mechanical engineering with a specialisation in process engineering and automation technology at RWTH Aachen University and completed his studies in 2018 with the development of a digitalised ultrasonic testing process as part of his master's thesis.
In his subsequent work at the Chair of Information and Automation Systems for Process and Materials Engineering, he worked on several research projects with well-known companies from the process industry. The main focus was on data analysis, process optimisation and model development. He also taught his students how to secure, control and regulate process engineering systems with commercial process control systems in the process automation internship.
As early as 2017, when he created the basis for a later patent application by his supervising company with his Master's thesis, he became interested in industrial property protection. That's why he decided to train as a patent attorney at the law firm Michalski Hüttermann & Partner at the end of 2021.
