Wulf Höflich

Patent attorney

His career began in 1990 at engine manufacturer MTU in Munich. He initially worked there as an engineer in engine development and shortly afterwards as a patent engineer in the patent department.

Wulf Höflich held management positions as head of the IP departments at companies in the aerospace and automotive industries: Knorr-Bremse, General Motors Europe / Adam Opel AG and Airbus Group. During this time, he founded the Munich-based law firm AKLaw together with former colleagues from Knorr-Bremse. As Chief Intellectual Property Officer of Airbus Group, he headed the IP department, which is one of the few companies in Europe to file more than 1,000 first patent applications. To commercially exploit the Airbus Group's technology portfolio, Wulf Höflich created the Technology Licensing business unit, which concluded technology transfer agreements with companies such as Maserati.

Wulf Höflich is a speaker at international conferences and universities. He taught the subject of industrial property rights at the University of Applied Sciences in Ingolstadt. He recently spoke at conferences on the topics of technology licensing and industrial property rights in connection with 3D printing. Wulf Höflich has also contributed to publications in specialist journals on the topics of intellectual property rights management and technology licensing.

Wulf Höflich, born in Augsburg in 1962, studied aerospace engineering at the Technical University in Munich. He graduated with a degree in engineering in 1990. Wulf Höflich is married and has three sons. In addition to German, he speaks English and French. He is a passionate pilot and loves skiing.
